Why Locals Love XXL Kebab & Vegan
XXL Kebab & Vegan is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Luzern on Hertensteinstrasse, where the vibrant flavors of Turkish street food meet fresh, thoughtfully prepared vegan options. Owner Osman’s passion radiates through the relaxed atmosphere, where friendly interaction and genuine care amplify the dining experience. Customers repeatedly praise his warmth and attentiveness, from making your wrap right before your eyes to sharing a smile or engaging conversation. Though the space is modest and designed more for grab-and-go or casual standing dining, this only adds to the charm—perfect for a quick, delicious lunch or a fulfilling snack while exploring Luzern.
With approximately 34 vegan and vegetarian options, XXL Kebab & Vegan caters effortlessly to diverse dietary preferences. The hot sauce, with its pleasantly fiery kick, perfectly complements the hearty portions, satisfying both the hunger and the soul. Very quick, affordable, and tasty lunch spot in a city where most restaurants are pretty pricey! The only meat option was chicken. We tried 1 gyros kebab wrap (with fries) and 1 kebab wrap (without fries). Recommend getting the wrap with fries. The regular wrap (not XXL) is filling for 1 person. The patron is very friendly :)

For the veggie falafel my husband got the original and we shared fries. Very good and fresh. The owner made it in front of us and was very kind. Not much area to sit and eat as it is a very small building but it’s easy to eat as you walk about. Would recommend.

You can tell Osman really loves what he does. It comes across in his speech, the way he makes the food, and the attention he gives. We got the number 7, which is more than enough in terms of satisfying your hunger. And that hot sauce has a good kick to it as well! Definitely an underrated doner shop. Perks: halal, has vegan options, and Osman is a wonderful conversationalist.

We had a traditional Turkish cigkofte durum (vegan). It was super delicious. They serve it warm as well and in a cold weather it is a great experience. Definitely recommend and I will visit again to try out other dishes in the menu.

Was passing by and dropped in seeing ‘vegan’ in the name. There were roughly 3-4 vegan and vegetarian options. Tried the Cigkofte and Falafel, both were decent. Fine for a quick snack.

The place is super clean. I tried cigkofte and loved it. The owner is very friendly. I wish I could eat more but if I go Luzern again, I’ll definitely eat it. I hope he will run his business for many years. It’s obvious that he loves what he is doing and he is cooking with love! Thank you!

Nice little place for a takeaway in the old town. Gentleman at the counter is super friendly. We got falafel wraps and they put ample salad and sauces in.
